The Seven Trumpets

Introduction
• Fallen Condition Focus: We close our ears and harden our hearts to God's Spirit sent to convict us of sin and the judgment to come rather than heeding the warnings of God. We try to avoid the Word of God and his warnings to us through the prophets. We are too busy to concern ourselves with the call of God to come to him. We make excuses in order to resist surrendering our lives to Him.
• Sermon Proposition: Since the Lord's messengers sound the trumpet to warn the people of earth of the judgment to come, we ought to turn to the Lord in repentance and faith during this season of divine mercy
• Purpose: To call us to turn to the Lord Jesus in repentance and faith that we might be saved and sealed for the day of redemption

I. God's warning to us and the world: The seven trumpets are seven warnings of the judgments of God during the Great Tribulation (Rev. 8:6-9:21; 11:15-19)

II. Our hope in God: The blood of the Lamb and the seal of the Holy Spirit (Rev. 9:4; 7:1-17)

III. Our response to God's warning: Repentance and faith in Christ (Rev. 9:20-21; cf. Rev. 2:4, 5)
