• Fallen Condition Focus: we do not rightly fear the Lord and his judgments. We take for granted the gift of grace and continue to live according to the world. Or we dismiss the idea of God's wrath and create a false understanding in our mind of God.

• Sermon Proposition: Since the Lord God will punish the wicked with great wrath, we ought to worship him in reverent fear

I. Since the Lord God will punish the wicked with great wrath, we ought to fear the Lord our God (Rev. 11:18; 14:7; 15:4; Prov. 1:7; Is. 11:1-3)

II. Since the Lord God will punish the wicked with great wrath, we ought to find forgiveness and mercy in the blood of the Lamb (Rev. 1:5; 5:9; 7:14; cf. Romans 2:5; 3:21-25; 5:9)

III. Since the Lord God will punish the wicked with great wrath, we ought to be awake and ready for Jesus Christ's coming at any time (Rev. 16:15; cf. Rev. 3:1-3; 1 Thess. 5:2)
