The Secret of the Kingdom of God

What are we doing in response to God's Word? Introduction
• Fallen Condition Focus: There are obstacles within us and without us, the devil, temptation, sin, hardness of heart, etc., that prevent us from "true hearing," that is hearing God's word and bearing fruit.
• Sermon Proposition: Since God gives grace to some to truly hear His Word, let us ask God for grace to hear, understand, and bear fruit in response to his Word
• Purpose: The purpose of this sermon is to call us to receive Jesus and his Word, to seek greater understanding of His Word and to faithfully obey His Word

I. Since God gives grace to some to truly hear His Word, let us receive Jesus and his Word (Mk. 4:1-2, 11, 14; cf. Mk. 8:27-30; Jn. 1:12, 14; Jn. 6:60-71)
Are we hearing and receiving Jesus, God's Word for us?

II. Since God gives grace to some to truly hear His Word, let us seek understanding of his Word (Mk. 4:10-13, 33-34)
How are we seeking understanding into God's Word?

III. Since God gives grace to some to truly hear His Word, let us obey his Word (Mk. 4:8, 20; Matt. 7:24-27)
