The Comforter Will Guide You

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. John 16:13-14 (ESV)

Fallen Condition Focus: We do not understand the truth about Jesus. We need God to make his truth known to us so that we may understand fully Jesus Christ, his Word. Therefore, we need a teacher, a guide to lead us into greater understanding of God's truth in Jesus Christ.

Sermon Proposition: Since Christ has sent to us his Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth, we ought to welcome the Holy Spirit to be our guide.
