The Cheerful Giver
Introduction
- Fallen Condition Focus: Sometimes we give with a bad attitude or resist giving because inwardly we do not delight in giving to the Lord and his cause. We might be afraid of giving because we don't have an inner conviction of God's will. We have lost touch with the generous love of God and can't freely and cheerfully give.
- Sermon Proposition: Since God gives us seed to sow and reap a harvest, we ought to give cheerfully to the cause of Christ
I. The cheerful giver gives bountifully with an eye to the harvest (2 Cor. 9:6)
II. The cheerful giver gives intentionally with an eye to God's guidance (2 Cor. 9:7)
IIII. The cheerful giver gives freely with an eye to the command of Jesus (2 Cor. 9:9)
IV. The cheerful giver gives generously with an eye to God's enriching supply (2 Cor. 9:11)
V. V. The cheerful giver gives thankfully with an eye to God's gift to us, his Son (2 Cor. 9:15)
