Redemption

Introduction
• Fallen Condition Focus: As fallen sinful creatures, we have been taken captive and enslaved to sin through our own willful disobedience to God. Even if we have received God's grace of redemption in Jesus, we too quickly forget its significance.
• Sermon Proposition: Since the Lord God has redeemed us by the blood of Jesus his Son, we ought to whole-heartedly receive His free gift of redemption and dwell in the its new reality.
• Purpose: To invite us to receive the great redemption of God given to us through the shed blood of Jesus his Son and live in its power every day of our lives.

I. We have been redeemed from the power of sin and death (Rom. 3:24-25; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:13-14; 1 Pet. 1:18-19)

II. We have been redeemed for God to be his precious possession (Ex. 19:4-6; Isa. 43:1; 1 Pet. 2:9)

III. We have been redeemed unto heavenly glory (Rev. 5:9-10; cf. 7:9-17; 11:12)
