Great is Thy Faithfulness

Introduction
• Fallen Condition Focus: God is faithful; we are faithless. We have broken our covenant with God and worshipped other gods. We break covenants with one another; we lie and are disloyal to God and to others. Only by the grace of God can we remain faithful to our faithful God and to others
• Sermon Proposition: Since the Lord is good to his covenant people showing them mercy and faithfully keeping his covenant, let us turn from every faithless way, return to the Lord and worship him alone.

I. The theme of God's faithfulness throughout Scripture

II. The problem of human faithlessness recounted in Scripture

III. God's covenant of grace in Christ is an outworking of his divine faithfulness to his purposes, promises, and people

It is not that God is faithful to keep us from troubles and tragedies, but that he is faithful to his covenant of grace to restore us to himself and bring us through every trial so that we might know him and be with him

So What?
A. Renew our commitment to God (Dt. 6:5; Mt. 22:37-39)
B. Realign with the Lord's Great Commission (Matt. 28:19, 20)
C. Recount God's faithfulness to us (Ps. 103:1-5)
D. Rejoice together for God's great faithfulness to us (Ps. 100)
