Christ Alone (Solus Christus)

Introduction
• The Five Solas: Scripture alone, Christ alone, grace alone, faith alone, and to the glory of God alone.
• Fallen Condition Focus: We are susceptible to being deceived by false teachers and led astray from faith in Christ alone. We are vulnerable to building our lives on faulty ideas, false teachings, worldly philosophies, human traditions, and cosmic spirits rather than on Christ, our Savior
• Sermon Proposition: Since Christ alone reconciles us to God, we ought to continue in the faith we have heard and received united by faith to him
I. Faith in his Incarnation (Col. 1:15-19; 2:9-10; John 1:1-5, 14; Heb. 1:1-3)
II. Faith in his Crucifixion, Death and Burial (Col. 1:20-22; 2:11-15; Rom. 5:6-10; 6:4-11; 8:34; 1 Cor. 15:3)
III. Faith in his Resurrection (Col. 2:12; 3:1-4; Rom. 1:4; 5:10-11; 6:4-11; 8:34; 1 Cor. 15:4, 20ff.)
IV. Faith in his Ascension (Col. 3:1-4; Acts 1:9-11; Rom. 8:34; Phil. 2:9-11; Eph. 1:20-23)
So What?
We need to continue in this faith we have been given through the Gospel trusting in Christ alone
• Trust in Christ for your salvation (John 1:12; 3:16; 14:1)
• Confess your faith in Christ (Rom. 10:9-13; Acts 2:38)
• Study and meditate on the Gospel (Acts 17:10-12)
• Live according to the Gospel (Col. 2:6-7; 3:12-14; Gal. 5:6, 14, 22-23)
• Share the Gospel (Acts 1:8; Col. 4:5-6; 1 Pet. 3:15)
• Place your hope in Christ's return (Acts 1:9-11)
